Acupuncture
Acupuncture Health is considered a free flow of Qi (energy). When there are blocks or stagnation, there exists disharmony or dis-ease. Acupuncture is a means by which the normal flow of Qi is restored in the body – mind for ease and well-being. TCM (traditional Chinese Medicine) states there are more than 600 acupuncture points on the human body connected by 12 main and 8 secondary pathways called meridians. These meridians conduct energy between the surface of the body and the internal organs. During an acupuncture treatment, small single use Acupuncture Needles are used to stimulate the acupuncture points with a specific treatment strategy catered to the individual.
Services Complementary to Acupuncture:
Tui Na
Tui Na is a type of therapeutic massage that helps the body to remove blockages along the meridians of the body and stimulate the flow of qi and blood to promote healing. It is sometimes used at the end of acupuncture or cupping session. The practitioner often uses liniments or oil to aid in the healing process.
Moxibusion Moxibusion is a traditional form of heat therapy, often used as a complement to acupuncture. Moxibusion treats and prevents diseases by applying heat to points or certain locations of the human body. For centuries, moxibustion and acupuncture have been combined in clinical practice, thus they are usually termed together in Chinese. The moxa (made of mogurt) can be made into moxa wool, moxa cone or moxa stick, which can burn and produce mild heat that is able to penetrate deeply into the muscles. It can warm the meridians, induce the smooth flow of Qi and blood. It can also prevent diseases and keep general good health.
Far Infrared Heat
Far Infrared Heat therapy effectively helps to increase blood circulation without putting strain on your heart and increases the levels of oxygen and white blood cells in your blood. This therapy offers a variety of proven health and beauty benefits. It also stimulates the production of collagen (a building block for human tissue) in your body and helps to rid your body of toxins by causing you to perspire. You get the benefit of a stronger immune system, better cardiovascular health, and a faster ability to heal from soft tissue injuries such as tears, pulls, and sprains.
Cupping

Cupping is a method of stimulating acupuncture points by applying suction through a glass jar in which a partial vacuum has been created. The suction from the cup stimulates the healing process and draws out bodily toxins. Cupping is most commonly used for low backache, sprains, soft tissue injuries or helping relieve fluid from the lungs associated with chronic bronchitis. It typically leaves a purplish/red mark from 2-7 days after treatment. This can be done in conjunction with an acupuncture treatment or as a treatment alone.
Electro-Acupuncture
In electro-acupuncture small clips are attached to the ends of two needles creating a current which transmits electric frequencies. This technique is safe and painless, patients usually feel only a slight pulsation at the two acupuncture points. Electro acupuncture provides extra stimulation for a longer duration of time and is used for pain management, musculoskeletal problems, circulation and other problems.
